Rehan Ahmed
General Manager and Chief Product Officer
Marketnode

Rehan Ahmed is General Manager and founding team member at Marketnode, an SGX Group and Temasek backed Digital Markets Infrastructure operator. Within this role, he focuses on product development and the digitalization of capital markets products including bonds, funds infrastructure and sustainable finance. As Head of Fixed Income Products and Digital Assets at SGX Group, Rehan oversaw the launch of a digital bond issuance platform that culminated in the Marketnode partnership.

Rehan began his career at Bear Stearns (London) fixed income trading desk in 2005 and subsequently held positions within credit structuring and trading (UBS AG, London) and portfolio management at CDC Group UK (now British International Investment), a UK development finance institution.

He has been based in Asia since 2010, where he joined Bloomberg L.P.’s FICC trading team and oversaw a number of regional market trading initiatives such as the launch of Pakistan’s first online debt auction system and Sri Lanka’s interdealer debt trading platform. He joined SGX Group from IDFC Securities (Singapore) where he was responsible for overseeing India access products for global investors.

Rehan was involved in the launch of new platforms including SGX Group’s institutional bond trading platform (2016) and led its General Counterparty service (2018) rollout before focusing on digital assets. He was one of key SGX Group representatives on industry bodies such as ICMA, FIX Trading Community and Singapore National Markets Practice Group (NMPG).

Rehan attended Ecole Sciences-Po (Paris) before attaining his Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University and subsequently a Masters in Science from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE).

Serene Cai

Ms. Serene Cai is Head of Securities Trading at SGX Group. She manages a team covering market structure and policies, and products strategy to drive trading liquidity and product adoption. Her responsibilities include cash equities trading, clearing and settlement, and products.

Prior to her current role, she was Director of International Sales with SGX Group, based in Chicago. She was responsible for sales and marketing of SGX Group’s derivatives products and capital fund raising platforms in the U.S. Before that, she was Vice President of Derivatives, Head of North Asia Equities since 2012 where she was responsible for building volumes and revenues for North Asia financial equity products as well as formulating strategic marketing and product distribution plans for global markets. She started her career with SGX Group in 2005.

Serene holds a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University Singapore.

Adrian Chng

Ade Cordell

Ade Cordell is President, Asia-Pacific at Cboe.

Based in Singapore, Ade is responsible for Cboe’s APAC businesses and is the Chair of Cboe Australia and Cboe Japan. He was previously President of Cboe Netherlands where he led the development and launch of Cboe Europe’s Amsterdam based derivatives exchange in September 2021.

Prior to joining Cboe Europe in January 2020, Ade was the Global Head of Equity Derivatives at the Intercontinental Exchange where his role encompassed leading client facing business development and product teams in Europe and North America. He has an international career background having worked in London and New York with Deutsche Bank, as well as stints in London and Hong Kong with Credit Suisse First Boston.

Ade holds a MBA in Electronic Business from City, University of London, and a MSc in International Strategy and Diplomacy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Roland de Marsangy

Roland has helped Liquidnet expand its geographical presence since joining in 2012. An initial focus on continental European members quickly expanded to include several strategic London accounts. He has also developed the trading platform expansion in emerging markets, including the launch of the on-shore South African market. In September 2016, Roland relocated to APAC to lead Liquidnet’s business development and market structure efforts in the Asia-Pacific region (currently active in 14 markets) including China.

Roland’s recent focus has been on breaking down the complexities of new market structure for Asia-Pacific based clients, particularly as enhanced workflows like Conditionals grow in the APAC region.

Roland has a depth of industry experience, previously working at Bloomberg in 2005 before working in Seychelles on the equities desk of an Austrian quant-driven hedge fund in 2009. Richard Hills

Richard Hills is Head of Client Engagement at big xyt and the strategy lead on the JSE Trade Explorer data analytics project, which is now under the direction of big xyt ecosystems, the new joint venture between the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and big xyt.

Richard has over 30 years’ experience in capital markets, and before joining big xyt, he established and ran the electronic trading business at a major European investment bank before becoming managing director of the global equities execution team.

Prior to that, Richard trained as a systems engineer with IBM before joining Accenture as a consultant in financial markets.

Vikas Kedia

Mark Lam, FRM

Mark Lam, FRM, Director, is a member of PM Architecture within Index Fixed Income in the Portfolio Management Group. The Architecture team is responsible for developing and implementing algorithms to automate portfolio construction processes.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Lam was Head of Quantitative Research at YieldX, where he was responsible for building quantitative models and portfolio construction. Previously, he led the asset analytics practice area in the Analytics & Quantitative Solutions team within the Aladdin Business. He began his career at BlackRock in 2011 as an Analyst in the Portfolio Analytics Group, where he was responsible for producing valuation, risk analytics and reporting for banks & financial institution clients.

Mr. Lam earned a BA degree in Business Economics, summa cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2011, where he was a William F. Sharpe Fellow. Mr. Lam is a certified FRM.

James Liu

Edward Mangles

In March 2009, Edward was appointed Asia Pacific Regional Director for the FIX Trading Community, and works closely with the buyside, sellside, regulator, exchange and technology provider members of the institutional trading community to support efficient trading.

Ankit Mittal

Ankit is Vice President, Trading Platform & Product Marketing in Aladdin Business of BlackRock. Prior to joining BlackRock, Ankit was Business Change Manager for Global Trading at Schroders and worked closely with global trading desks to drive change initiatives and product management in the multi-asset trading space. Christian Obrist

Christian is responsible for the management and development of the iShares distribution team for Asia and is a member of the iShares APAC executive committee. In this capacity Christian oversees distribution strategy and execution of both on- and offshore iShares ETFs to Asia based clients.

Prior to assuming his current role, Christian led the iShares ETF business for Australasia from 2018 to 2021. His responsibilities included the distribution of on- and offshore ETF fund ranges, overseeing the local ETF capital markets and iShares product platform, and the development and execution of the iShares business strategy.

From 2014 to 2018 Christian led iShares distribution for Wealth and Asset Managers across Asia ex Japan and was based in Hong Kong. He moved from BlackRock’s Zurich office in 2014 where he led institutional iShares distribution for 2 years.

Christian started his career in investment banking working for both JPMorgan and UBS in London and Zurich focusing on fixed income derivatives and structured credit products.

Viktor Östebo

Ashvin Parkash

Ashvin Parkash joined Nomura as Global Head of e-FX Distribution in August 2018. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for establishing and managing a top-tier global e-FX distribution platform for the firm’s FX and Emerging Markets business.

He collaborates with the sales, trading and technology teams at Nomura to enhance product capabilities in the electronic space, and with the heads of FX sales in each region on the distribution strategy for the firm’s e-FX offering.

Ashvin has over 22 years of capital markets experience, and in the last decade, has held a number of senior sales roles in e-FX distribution across Europe and Asia. Prior to Nomura, he was at BNP Paribas for five years, where he was most recently Asia-Pacific Head of e-Distribution, responsible for the bank’s electronic execution channels across FX, rates and commodities.

Before that, he spent 11 years with Citibank and Lehman Brothers in multiple roles that included e-FX sales, sales and structuring of commercial mortgage-backed securities, and fixed income research.

He has a BSc (Hons.) Computer Science with Management from King’s College, University of London, and is from the U.K.

David Rabinowitz

David Rabinowitz is Head of Global Index Analytics and Asia Pacific Market Structure.

David started his career at SBC Warburg in 1997, where he assisted in designing and implementing Warburg's European Equity Research database. After a brief stint at Paribas, he moved to Hong Kong to rejoin UBS Warburg Dillon Read in 2000, as a member of the award-winning Asian Quantitative Analysis team. David then moved on to the Asian Portfolio Trading team between 2004 and 2008 before leading the Asian electronic trading desk over the past decade, managing the rollout and expansion of UBS' DMA and Algorithmic strategy platform throughout Asia. David relocated in 2018 to Sydney where he continues to oversee regional market structure and emerging market access, driving exchange and regulatory trading initiatives whilst concentrating on building benchmark and bespoke beta solutions for global clients.

Jimmy Redbourn

Jimmy Redbourn is the Head of Electronic Trading for the Asia Pacific region at Instinet, and is based in Singapore. In this role, he is responsible for leading and growing the electronic trading business across Asia, offering Instinet’s advanced technology-driven strategies to its institutional, hedge fund, quant, and broker dealer client base. With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, and 12 of those years based in Asia, Jimmy previously served as the Head of Electronic Executions Client Service at CSLA.

He began his career in Equity Derivatives at UBS in London before moving to Equity Sales Trading at Renaissance Capital, with a transfer to Hong Kong to open their Asia base. Jimmy’s switch to Electronic Trading Coverage came with Barclays Capital in early 2015. He holds a BSc Degree in Applied Economics from the University of Plymouth, UK.

Adam Rubinsztajn

Adam is a member of the Coinbase Institutional Sales team based in Singapore. Prior to joining Coinbase, Adam was head of Hedge Fund Sales and eFX Sales for Natwest Markets in APAC. Before that, he started his career at State Street Global Markets, where he marketed a range of Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange products and derivatives. Adam received his Bachelor’s of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland, College Park and is a CFA charterholder.

Samar Sen

Samar heads up the Talos business in APAC, delivering institutional-grade digital asset trading systems to customers on the buy-side and sell-side. Over his 20-year career, Sen has worked in a variety of product, strategy, and technology leadership roles at capital markets firms across the industry. Prior to joining Talos, he served as the Global Head of Digital Products for Securities Services at Deutsche Bank, where he co-led the bank’s digital asset strategy and product delivery. In addition, he has held senior Asia-based roles at BNP Paribas, Barclays, and TradeHero after starting his career at Goldman Sachs in New York. Sen holds a degree in Computer Science from Northwestern University and an MBA from INSEAD.

Peter Shen

Peter is the Head of Innovation and Market Data for Eastspring Investments, responsible for leading the innovation practice, automation programmes, as well as enterprise market data.

Peter joined Eastspring Investments in April 2022 from Singapore Exchange (SGX).

Peter held various roles across the SGX Group, including Head of Digital Services FICC where he was responsible for driving technology platform development and integration. Peter was previously Group Head of Innovation, driving programmes to advance the enterprise value of technology, leading the cloud practice in a highly regulated environment, and the digital asset programmes. Peter was also the pioneer of SGX’s co-location business.

Prior to SGX, Peter was an IBM campus hire where he joined as a software engineer, working on assignments in Singapore, the United States and Europe.

Peter holds a B.Eng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and is active in the startup community as a sponsor and an advisor. Peter also holds a Patent in Digital Asset technology.

Xiaofeng Shi

As the Head of Trading at Janus Henderson Investors, he is best suited to give his insights on block trading, technology developments, broker relationships and promotion of DE&I matters in Asia.

Khashayar Surti, CFA

Khashayar Surti, CFA, is the head of multi-asset trading for APAC at UBS Asset Management. Prior to joining UBS Asset Management in 2018, Khashayar has held various positions such as equity sales trader, facilitation trader and FX market maker at Barclays Bank over a period of 6 years. His prior roles included trading at hedge funds in Singapore and Mumbai, India.

Khashayar was responsible for converting the trading desk at UBS AM Singapore from equities focus to a multi-asset team. He has been instrumental in driving electronification of fixed income trading in APAC across rates and credit.

Khashayar holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Mumbai University and is a CFA charter holder. He is part of various industry groups driving change in APAC securities trading.

Barry Tan

Barry is a Senior Equity Sales-Trader based in Singapore. He joined BofA Securities in 2022 covering South East Asia, Hong Kong and China Markets. He has 15 years experience on the sell-side covering sovereign wealth funds, long only and hedge funds globally with 10 years in Sales-Trading and 5 years in Execution. Barry previously worked for JP Morgan, Macquarie, HSBC and Standard Chartered. He has a B.Commerce in Accounting from University of Sydney.

Isabella Tan

Isabella Tan is a Senior Multi-Asset Trader for Allianz Global Investors Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong. She joined Allianz Asset Management (now Allianz Global Investors) in January 2001 as Assistant Dealer. Prior to joining Allianz, she was with OCBC Asset Management (S) Limited for over three years. During her three years in OCBC Asset Management (S) Limited, she was the Assistant Treasury Dealer on the Treasury Desk and moved on to be a Fund Manager Assistant. The different job coverage exposed her to the various aspects of the fund management industry.

Isabella is also a Responsible Officer (RO) for Type 2 Regulated Activity (RA).

Leo Tay is Managing Director and Head of FX, Rates, and Derivatives Trading in ING Bank NV, based in Singapore. He manages a diverse and inclusive trading team across Asia, and is also responsible for eTrading and digital asset initiatives. In a broader capacity he is the Lead of Sustainability FM Products, championing the integration of ESG principles into financial market offerings. Mark is a trusted advisor to clients across APAC on digital transformation strategies for their front office workflows. With over 8 years of experience at Bloomberg, he has a deep understanding of both the sell-side and buy-side workflows. He is currently responsible for developing Bloomberg's Asia Pacific product strategy for natural language processing (NLP), artificial intelligence (AI), and APIs in the areas of trading, market analysis, and client intelligence. In this role, he works closely with product managers and engineers to bring innovative solutions to market.

Having 19+ years of practitioner experience – combination of running mission critical IT Operation teams as project manager for the Trading Operations at National Stock Exchange India as well as having worked on IT solutioning across APAC with extensive experience within the high demands of Capital markets. Rohan brings a strong understanding of the design and supporting of real-time technology as organization move towards an agile event-driven real-time IT infrastructure. Rohan has been exposed to several leading enterprise’s journey to a hybrid cloud space along with designing for ever increasing data volumes and velocity, relevant to the operation and IT management of financial institutions where downtime of services is unacceptable.

Cynthia Win is the Head of Electronic Sales for Asia Pacific. She joined JP Morgan in 2015 as FICC Electronic Sales in Singapore and has led the team since 2017. Before joining JP Morgan, Cynthia had several years of sales experience within the industry. Previous to her career in Finance, she was an engineer in the Semiconductor industry.

Cynthia has received her bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from National University of Singapore, and a Master’s in Business Administration from University of Melbourne, Australia.

She was born in Myanmar and migrated to Singapore with her family when she was 9 years old. Cynthia delivered a TED speech “Not good with names: Local name customs in a global village” in 2014 and is married with one child.

TK Yap
Group Chief Transformation Officer

TK Yap is Group Chief Transformation Officer at CGS-CIMB Securities. He is currently rebuilding its foundations in the areas of Core Architecture, Core Platforms and Operational Efficiency; focusing on efficient technology to achieve effective scalability and maximize customer engagement.

The Transformation Solutions Group that he oversees comprises Platforms, Technology, Operations, Processes and the Transformation Management Office.

To help drive the business transformation of the Group, his 35 years spent in frontline roles are fueling his ideas to transform the backend support functions to become more customer centric and focused on the customer journey.

These past roles have spanned local and global firms, buy and sell sides, distribution and origination, as well as research and sales functions. More than half of his career has been focused on the low touch and trading solutions space.

TK is a Chartered Financial Analyst and an IBF Fellow.
