Calissa Aldridge

Calissa leads ASIC’s Market Supervision team, responsible for the real-time monitoring of trading activities across Australia’s equities, futures and OTC markets. She is also responsible for overseeing market intermediaries’ compliance, and for monitoring the distribution of complex products.

Calissa has held senior leadership roles in ASIC’s Market Supervision and Market Infrastructure since 2009. Before joining ASIC, she held roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland in London, the UK Financial Services Authority, Markit and the Australian Treasury.

Vibhanshu Bahuguna
Regional Manager, APAC

As Regional Manager for APAC at ION, Vibhanshu Bahuguna (Vib) heads the Foreign Exchange and Digital Assets franchise across Asia. He caters to banks, brokers, OTC desks, and exchanges. TradAir is uniquely positioned within ION Markets to provide a full automation for Trading desks within FX and Digital Assets, providing both technology and liquidity-type solutions for market participants.

Vib was the first hire for TradAir Asia in 2015 and expanded TradAir’s footprints across Asia. He constantly engaged with Central Banks and Regulators such as BNM, MAS, RBI, HKMA, and Thailand SEC and encouraged them to adopt cloud-based, market neutral, fair, and transparent trading technologies. He also spearheaded a project co-sponsored by Government of Singapore under EBD/SIIRD initiative for innovating R&D solutions. The R&D initiative allowed SPOT OTC liquidity to be interchanged with Futures.

Having worked in this industry for over 15 years, Vib regularly speaks at industry events and conferences on trading, liquidity, and execution. He has previously spoken at P&L (Singapore and Hong Kong), Thailand Fintech Roadshow 2019, FIX Conference (Singapore, Mumbai, Hong Kong, and Australia), and Singapore Fintech Festival.

Prior to joining TradAir in 2016, Vib was part of the State Street Global Exchange in Singapore where he led its Currenex and FX Connect offerings.

With multi-asset experience across both APAC and Europe, she has also held roles at OTAS, Bloomberg and Tradeweb, with a focus on execution sales.

Damian Bierman

Damian Bierman is Head of Trading Operations in Asia-Pacific for FactSet. He is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and managing buyside & sellside relationships across the region. Damian joined FactSet through its acquisition of Portware in 2015. Damian joined Portware in 2007, opening the firm's office in Hong Kong and establishing its presence in the region.

Damian is an active member of the FIX Trading Community, currently serving as Co-Chair of the Asia Pacific Education and Marketing Subcommittee. He has been a mainstay of the organization's Asia-Pacific presence for the past 17 years, playing an active role in promoting the adoption of FIX across the region.

Prior to Portware, Damian ran FIX Services in APAC for NYFIX, setting up its Hong Kong office in 2004. Damian joined Javelin Technologies in New York in 2000, implementing its Appia FIX engine technology at numerous buy- and sell-side institutions globally.

Previously, Damian held a research position at Carnegie Mellon Research Institute in Pittsburgh, PA, working on the DOT-funded Driver Drowsiness Detection & Countermeasures study, as well as a study of expert landmine detection skill for the US Army.

Damian received his B.S. in Cognitive Science from Carnegie Mellon University in May 1997.

Robert Capistron

Rob Capistron heads the Virtu Analytics group in Asia Pacific, which supports Virtu’s multi-asset product suite including pre-trade, real-time, and post-trade analytics. More recently, Rob has been working with clients leveraging Virtu’s Open Technology API platform to more easily access their trading data to run in-depth trading strategy analysis. Prior to Rob’s move to Hong Kong, he managed Virtu’s Client Services team in NY, supporting the US institutional client base where he was heavily involved in the rollout of Virtu’s Algo Wheel reporting offering.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Boston College.

Billy is the Head of Product at BC Group (0863.HK), the parent company that operates the Hong Kong SFC Licensed Digital Asset Platform OSL. Prior to joining OSL Billy has spent considerable time building technology products and solutions in multiple industries and organizations such as SWIFT, American Express, Expedia and Galileo.

Winter Chan

Winter is currently the Head of Trading Technology APAC and has been working in JP Morgan Asset management since 2006 in a variety roles across the equities technology organization. In his current role he faces off to the head of Asia trading and other senior equities stakeholders driving both regional and global technology initiatives within the trading space.

Most recently Winter has been leading efforts on delivery of technology solutions in support of the transformation of the regional trading function and designing a solution to support on-shore Trading in China.

Winter participates in industry forums and events actively that contributes to the IOIs standardization. He is also a Co-Chair of the FIX technical subcommittee in Asia. In such capacity, he is currently working on an update to the guide to cover the Master SPSA initiative.

Winter holds a BSc in Computer Science and Information Systems and a MPhil in Computer Information Systems from the University of Hong Kong.

Teresa Chiu

Teresa Chiu is the APAC Head of Automation at Bloomberg, spearheading adoption of its advanced automation tools in the region on both the sellside and the buyside, and integrated workflow between the two. She also facilitates the integration of Bloomberg's Enterprise data solutions across the front and back office, with best of breed analytics and data to address current market needs. Teresa started her career at Sun Hung Kai Financial as a Quantitative Analyst before moving to ULLINK for five years as a Technical Account Manager for institutional trading products.

Abhishek Choudhary

Abhishek heads the Execution Advisory Services team within Citi’s Markets and Securities Services business in Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, his role covers cross-channel execution sales, execution consulting and microstructure research for Citi’s institutional clients. Abhishek has over 10 years’ experience in Equity Trading Algorithms and Quantitative Analytics specializing in helping institutional clients to understand the source of their trading costs, to execute efficiently using various execution and liquidity solutions, and how they are impacted by the ever-changing market microstructure. Prior to joining Citi, Abhishek worked at ITG (now Virtu) and Nomura. Abhishek holds a BTech in Engineering from IIT-Delhi and is a CFA charterholder.

Stephen Chung

Before ICE, Mazy was Chief Strategy Officer of Creditex which was backed by JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank and TA Associates and acquired by ICE in 2008. Mazy started his career at UBS as a software programmer. He earned a degree in Computer Science and French Literature from Cornell University.

Ofir Gefen is the Head of Sales and Revenue, EMEA, and APAC at Itiviti. In this role, he leads Itiviti’s business efforts in EMEA and APAC, overseeing the company’s strategic direction while continuing to drive business growth. Ofir joined Itiviti as the Head of APAC in 2017, managing its operations across the region, and responsible for all commercial and operational activities. Prior to that, he filled various management positions at ITG, finally serving as the Co-Head of Execution responsible for electronic & algorithmic trading in the last 3 years. Ofir has over 20 years of experience in technology within capital markets across multiple geographies, including Europe and the US. He holds a B.Sc. in Information Systems Engineering and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Elisabeth Kashner

Elisabeth Kashner, CFA, serves as VP and Director of Global Funds Research and Analytics at FactSet. Elisabeth manages FactSet’s fund classifications, ratings, and analytical data and provides original research on ETF due diligence, investor behavior, and industry practices. Elisabeth discovered the “heartbeat” trade. Elisabeth holds a BA from Brown University and a Masters in Financial Analysis from the University of San Francisco. Elisabeth is proud to have served as founding co-head of the San Francisco chapter of Women in ETFs and of the Women in ETFs Speaker’s Bureau and Press Corps.

Winnie Khattar

Winnie Khattar is Head of Market Structure for ETF & Index Investing (EII) Markets & Investments in APAC. In her role, Winnie is responsible for providing thought-leadership and content on local ETF market structure and develop the ETF industry in the region, by discussing with regional regulators, exchanges and market participants, advocating industry standards for ETFs and driving sustainable policy reform. Winnie works closely with BlackRock's businesses across Global Public Policy Group, iShares and Index Investments, Fixed Income and Trading Liquidity & Lending to ascertain the full impact of any structural change and guide unified opinion. She also engages with asset management associations and regulators on cross-border trading, marketing and distribution of local ETFs in the region. Winnie is also deeply involved in BlackRock’s local ETF range product quality and secondary trading.

Outside of BlackRock, Winnie is co-chair for FIX Exchanges and Regulatory Committee for Asia and also co-chairs mentorship for Women in Finance Asia (WiFA). Winnie was awarded Trailblazer Award by Markets Media Women in Finance Asia in 2020.

Prior to BlackRock, Winnie worked at BofA Securities, where she conceptualized and launched BofA's Market Structure offering in Asia and spent 10-years at Deutsche Bank in Mumbai, London and Hong Kong prior to that. Winnie graduated in 2007 with Physics degree from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University, India. Winnie is a passionate positive person, who enjoys outdoors, trail running, gardening and community initiatives both inside and outside work.

Ian Lauder

Ian joined Instinet in 2021, establishing the role of Head of Liquidity Strategy, Asia Pacific. He is responsible for the development of Instinet’s liquidity aggregation strategy for the benefit of clients trading in the region, including the ongoing evolution of the firm’s regulated alternative liquidity pools, and the expansion into new capabilities and order types, such as conditional block order crossing. Prior to Instinet, he was at HKEX, where he served as a SVP in the Markets Division. Ian previously spent over nine years at London Stock Exchange Group as Head of European Business Development, Turquoise, based in London, and later as Turquoise Head of Asia Business Development, based in Hong Kong.

Ian has an MA from the University of Glasgow, an MSc and LLM from University of London.

Frances Liu

Frances Liu is a senior data professional with over 14 years of experience in the financial industry with extensive knowledge of market identifiers, reference data and ESG data. She is currently looking after the APAC Open Symbology data and is responsible for the strategy, product development and industry engagement for the financial Instrument Global Identifier (FIGI) standard and Legal Entity Identifiers (LEIs) registration service in the APAC Region.

Prior to joining the Open Symbology team, she was an APAC Senior ESG specialist and she established the Hong Kong Sustainability Reporting Working Group in 2012.

Natalie Lo

Natalie joined State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) in 2018, and is responsible for the execution of their Japanese and Korean books of Equity business, as well as regional listed Futures and Options. She leads the desk’s Algo Wheel development and analysis. Prior to joining SSGA, she was a trader at Robeco in Hong Kong from 2013 to 2018, covering all APAC markets. Natalie started her career in the industry as a management trainee and later worked as an Equity Salestrader at CLSA Limited. Natalie holds an MSc in Finance from the University of Leicester, as well as a Bachelor degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Ian MacLean

He joined Goldman Sachs in 2007 as a Programmer Analyst and was promoted to Vice President in 2009.

Prior to joining the firm, Ian worked in a number of Software Engineering roles across diverse areas including Finance, Anti-virus software and software development tools.

In March 2009, Edward was appointed Asia Pacific Regional Director for the FIX Trading Community, and works closely with the buyside, sellside, regulator, exchange and technology provider members of the institutional trading community to support efficient trading.

Matthew Mason

Prior to joining the firm, Matthew was co-head of Portfolio Sales Trading in Asia Pacific at Deutsche Bank. He began his career in transition management at Deutsche Bank in New York.

His responsibilities extend into portfolio optimisation and modelling.

Kevin Rideout

Mr. Kevin Rideout joined HKEX in April 2015 as Head of the Global Client Development. He is principally responsible for the International and Mainland client relationship management and marketing services.

Mr. Rideout joined HKEX from Citigroup Global Markets where he served 5 years as Head of Wholesale Execution Services Asia. He was also Chief spokesman on the implementation of Stock Connect program launched by HKEX. Prior to this he was Global Head of Market Infrastructures based in London for 5 years where he led a global team to harness commercial arrangements with stock exchanges, clearing houses and depositories around the world. In addition he founded and led a new business group for Citigroup in clearing HFT/Prop trading business.

Prior to joining Citi, Mr. Rideout spent 10 years at Thomson Reuters. He held various positions in Thomson Reuters, including Regional Manager Hong Kong, Regional Director Japan and Korea, Managing Director Asia in Singapore and Managing Director - Global Head of Relationship Management and Sales in London for the Omgeo (DTCC). Mr. Rideout holds a Bsc (Hons) Environmental Chemistry from the University of Hertfordshire UK.

Brian Roberts

As Head of Exchange Traded Products (ETPs), Brian is responsible for the development and management of HKEX’s exchange traded funds (ETFs) and leveraged and inverse (L&I) products, focusing on market development, client engagement and investor education. Prior to HKEX, Brian spent 12 years at Vanguard where he focused on developing their global ETF business.

Brian holds an undergraduate degree from Purdue University and an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

David Rogers

David has over 21 years of experience in the financial services industry, holding senior trading roles with leading global Buy and Sell Side institutions.

Prior to joining Quinlan & Associates, David was Head of Trading, Asia-Pacific for SSGA in Hong Kong, where he oversaw Fixed Income, Equity, Currency and Derivatives execution. Prior to his role at State Street, David was responsible for Electronic Trading, TCA and platforms at Fidelity Management & Research. Before this, he was Head of APAC Portfolio Trading at UBS. David began his career at Goldman Sachs in London.

As a consultant he specialises in Buy and Sell Side platform transformation, advising end asset owners on how to in-house PM and Trading functions, and has had extensive exposure to the outsourced trading industry.

David graduated from the University of Reading with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering; he also holds an MSc in Automotive Design from Cranfield University, doing a Summer internship at Williams Formula One team as part of the latter.

Manu Sharma

Manu Sharma is the Trading Solutions Head of APAC Sales at FactSet. He is responsible for growing the Electronic Trading franchise for FactSet throughout the region. Manu comes to the role with 12 years industry experience promoting best practices of multi-asset electronic trading for Bloomberg. During his tenure, Manu successfully advanced the electronification of complex trading workflows across numerous markets in the region, capturing market share for their multi-asset class trading solutions. Outside work, he has a keen interest in machine learning and its applications to mainstream finance. Manu holds a Master of Science degree in Global Finance from New York University.

Daniel Shek

Daniel has over 20 years of experience, working in the financial technology sector. He is passionate about applying technologies in the financial industry. He has worked in different areas in the financial industry, from retail banking to equity trading. Recently, he has founded a FinTech consultancy business and has helped develop business strategies for FinTech firms and financial institutions alike. Before starting his business, he has helped develop products and create business strategies in Asia for companies like ICE Data Services, FlexTrade, Bloomberg and Fidessa. He is also the co-chair of the FIX Asia Pacific Emerging Technology and Innovation Working Group. He has made contributions to the China Connect Best Practices guide and is currently focusing on Cryptocurrency, Cloud computing and Continuous workflow automation.

Ambre Soubiran

Li Renn Tsai

Li Renn Tsai is Head of Product and Sales, Asia at Tradeweb. Mr. Tsai joined Tradeweb in March 2017 from the Singapore Exchange (SGX), where he held the position of Senior Vice President, Head of Fixed Income Trading.

Before joining SGX in 2013, Mr. Tsai was Senior Vice President of Debt Capital Markets at DBS Bank, after serving as Fixed Income Investment Director and a member of the Management Committee at DBS Asset Management since 2009. Prior to that, he was most recently Managing Director and Head of Structured Solutions at UBS.

Mr. Tsai holds a BSE in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Gerrit van Wingerden

Candice Wan

Candice Wan is a member of the algorithm trading services team in Hong Kong with Morgan Stanley. Her main responsibility is to build and enhance the algorithms used by both external clients and internal desks to achieve best order executions. Prior to this, Candice worked on the buy-side for trading automation, TCA and performance tuning. Her experience includes working with business and strategists to improve the algorithms and strategy trading, TCA and streamline the trading flow.

Simon Williams

Simon N. Williams, Managing Director, is the APAC Head of Equity Trading within BlackRock’s Trading and Liquidity Strategies Group.

Mr. Williams’ service with the firm dates back to 2002, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. At BGI, he had responsibility for implementing trading strategies for all of BGI Europe’s index and transition management products. Prior to BGI, Mr. Williams worked as a member of the equity portfolio trading desk at CLSA.

Mr. Williams is currently co-chair of Asia Trader Forum.

Mr. Williams earned a BSc Hons degree in geological sciences from Durham University.

Wei-Shen Wong

Wei-Shen Wong is the Asia Editor at Waters Technology, and she oversees the publication’s APAC coverage. Since joining the publication in June 2016, she has been covering both the buy side and sell side, overseeing issues related to advancements in technology and data. She is also the host of the Waters Wavelength Podcast.

Benny Yip

Benny serves on the Asset Accumulation team in the Sales & Marketing Department at HKEX. His main responsibility is to be the Global Relationship Manager between HKEX and its top international Exchanges Participants, i.e., bulge bracket and tier-1 global banks and brokers (Sellside).

Benny joined HKEX in September 2015. Prior to HKEX, Benny held a similar role at CME Group in Hong Kong for 2 years. He has over 24 years of industry experience, with a majority of them being a cash equity trader across the U.S., European, and Asia markets. His trading experience includes buyside trading, sellside trading, sales trading, proprietary trading, program/algo trading, and the head of 5 different sales trading and trading desks.

Benny holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business. He grew up in New York and relocated to Hong Kong in October 2010.

Charles Zhang

Charles is part of the UBS Electronic Execution Services team based in Hong Kong. His current role covers electronic trading product and platform distribution, execution and microstructure research and consultancy. Charles has over 15 years of Equities experience with the previous 10 with UBS Electronic Trading across both trading coverage and sales functions. During his time, he oversaw the buildout of UBS Equity Swap Product, leads the strategy and governance forums for UBS Liquidity products and is responsible for content distribution. Charles is also part of the bank digitization strategy in the development and roll out of smart alerts across business functions.

Charles graduated from University of Michigan with dual degrees in Computer Science and Economics.
