Shri S.V. Muralidhar Rao

Shri S.V. Muralidhar Rao Executive Director, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), is in charge of Market Regulation Department (MRD) and Department of Economic and Policy Analysis (DEPA).

A postgraduate in Commerce and Master in Business Administration, Shri Muralidhar Rao joined SEBI in the year 1992 and has held various senior positions in SEBI with all around experience of working in the Divisions of Primary Market, Takeovers and Mergers, Investment Management in the areas of Mutual Fund, FIIs and Collective investment Scheme. He is presently member of Secondary Market Advisory Committee and Risk Management Review Committee constituted by SEBI.

Shri S.V. Muralidhar Rao is representing SEBI as a member of International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Committee 2 (C2) on Regulation of Secondary Markets, also represented SEBI in CPSS-IOSCO working group for RCCP of OTC derivatives and Repositiories and in EMC Working Group on the Regulation of Secondary Markets (Day Trading in Emerging Markets).

Swaminathan S. Anklesaria Aiyar

Swaminathan S. Anklesaria Aiyar is Consulting Editor of The Times of India group. He holds a Master’s degree in economics from Oxford University. He is also a research fellow at the Cato Institute with a special focus on India and Asia. His research interests include economic change in developing countries, human rights and civil strife, political economy, energy, trade and industry. A prolific columnist and TV commentator in India, he is well-known for a popular weekly column titled “Swaminomics” in the Times of India. He is the author of Escape From The Benevolent Zookeepers - The Best Of Swaminomics (New Delhi: Times of India, 2008). He has been the editor of India’s two biggest financial dailies, The Economic Times and Financial Express, and was also the India Correspondent of The Economist for two decades. He has been a frequent consultant to the World Bank and Asian Development Bank. Apart from professional activities, he is a social investor, having launched three microfinance institutions and built a fleet of medical boats on the Brahmaputra river to take medical services to 2,000 islands that had earlier never seen a doctor.

Maninder Cheema

Ms. Maninder Cheema has been with SEBI for the last 15 years and has handled various assignments during this period in the areas of Market Regulation, Investment Management, Corporate Debt Markets, International Affairs and Market Surveillance. She has been involved in significant policy initiatives of SEBI such as framing regulations for Alternative Investment Funds and Investment Advisors, framing policy for Infrastructure Debt Funds, development of Corporate Bond Markets, policy for structured debt products etc. She is presently responsible for policy relating to secondary market regulation including equity and equity derivatives markets, currency derivatives markets as well as corporate debt markets.

Ms. Cheema has participated in several committees and working groups such as RBI Working Group on NCDs of less than one year, RBI Working Group on Market Structure for Privately Placed Debentures, Corporate Bond and Securitisation Advisory Committee of SEBI and IOSCO EMC Task Force on Development of Corporate Bond Markets. She is presently Member Secretary of Secondary Markets Advisory Committee.

Ms. Cheema is an alumni of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune and handled market operations at the regional stock exchange in her hometown, Ludhiana, for more than 3 years prior to joining SEBI.

Siddharth Chhabria

Siddharth Chhabria is part of the Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading (GSET) team, currently based out of Singapore covering sales and marketing. He has been with Goldman Sachs since 2007 and was previously a sales team leader for Bloomberg L.P. in India (2002-2007). Prior to Bloomberg, Siddharth has been a broker in the fixed income markets with various firms.

Brandon DeCoster

Brandon DeCoster is the Vice President of Product Management for FIX Flyer LLC, and is a specialist in production operations and the FIX Protocol. Brandon studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology, earning a BS in Information Technology in 2005, and worked for years as a software engineer at IBM. He entered the financials in 2007 as an engineer for Pipeline Financial Group, supporting their dark matching engine and algorithmic equities trading, and is an avid student of game theory, a topic on which he lectures widely.

Kumar Goradia

Kumar Goradia manages front and back office technology for J.P. Morgan's markets facing businesses in India. Prior to J.P. Morgan, he managed the equity, listed derivatives, and operations technology initiatives of Citigroup Global Markets in the country. He has also looked after application technology, algorithmic trading, quantitative studies, and India access products for the Institutional business of MF Global India, as well as treasury technology at ICICI Bank and brokerage industry software services at Mphasis Ltd.

Additionally, Kumar spent 10 years with a private Indian brokerage, where he ran arbitrage trading, B2B franchise solutions, clearing, risk management, compliance, back office, & sales. He also served on the BSE’s technology committee, and is currently the Co-Chair of the India Working Group, FIX Trading Community.

Kumar has a B.E. from the University of Bombay, and an M.S. from Virginia Tech in the United States.

Umesh Jain

Umesh is Chief Technology Officer at National Stock Exchange. In this role he is responsible for IT Infrastructure, IT Operations, Strategy, Governance, Risk, Architecture, Business Technology Relationship management, Project Management, Budgets and Innovation. Till recently he was Sr. President and CIO at YES Bank where he was responsible for end to end Technology as well as Business Solutions Group. Prior to this, he was with Citi in various leadership roles.

He is recipient of Information-week global 50 CIO award and has spoken at prestigious forums like Gartner Global Symposium.

Umesh is an engineering graduate from IIT-Delhi.

Chris Jenkins

Chris joined Tora in 2006 as Managing Director for the Asia Pacific region. Chris has been in the industry for over 17 years, 11 of these in Asia.

Tora is a provider of asset management technology including EMS, OMS and downstream systems, algorithmic strategies and off market liquidity. Prior to joining Tora, Chris worked in Hong Kong at SWIFT, where he managed the Asian FIX sales team. Before SWIFT, Chris worked for Macgregor, a U.S. based order management system (OMS) provider. Chris also worked for AXA Investment Managers and HSBC Stockbroking in London.

Chris has previously served as Co-Chair of the Asia-Pacific Committee for FIX Trading Community, and had been instrumental in expanding the use of electronic trading throughout Asia.

Robert Laible

Robert Laible is a Division Director at Macquarie Securities Group based in Hong Kong and is Head of Program Trading & Electronic Execution for Asia. He had similar roles at Nomura where he was Co-Head of Global Electronic Trading Sales, APAC Head of Program Trading Sales & AEJ Head of Cash Sales Trading. Previously, Robert worked at Lehman Brothers in New York where he was a Senior Sales Trader covering a combination of pension plans, mutual funds, and quantitative managers for cash equities, programs, ETFs and swaps. He moved to Hong Kong in 2007 to run Lehman's Prime Brokerage Sales & Electronic Trading Sales. He started his career at ITG in its infancy and while running Sales & Trading helped build innovative technology that allowed it to become a dominant agency broker.

Graduate from Amherst College (BA - Economics) & NYU Stern Business School (MBA - Finance).

Edward Mangles

Mr. Edward Mangles is the founder and Publisher of GlobalTrading, the official publication of the FIX Trading Community. He has a long history within the financial technology sector and has worked closely with FIX Trading Community for a number of years. He has supported the organisation’s Asia Pacific committee for the past 11 years, playing a key role in promoting FIX adoption across the region. He has also worked for leading financial publishing and marketing firms in both London and Hong Kong. In March 09 Mr. Edward Mangles was appointed FIX Trading Community Asia Pacific Regional Director.

Vinata Mhatre

She is also actively involved in Algorithm strategies, SOR, regional markets coverage and Indian regulatory reviews & has been associated with FIX Trading Community India Working Group for 2 years. Vinata has overall industry experience of 15 years in equities & derivatives sales trading & execution. Abhishek Mohla

Abhishek Mohla is Executive Director at UBS in the Equities Client Trading and Execution team, based in Singapore since Jan 2011. In this role, Abhishek acts as Account Manager for South East Asia and India clients' global Electronic Trading needs. This entails ongoing education on Market Microstructure changes, DMA/Algo product enhancements and Execution Consultancy through Transaction Cost Analysis.

Prior to Singapore, Abhishek was based in Hong Kong holding the role of Asia-Pacific Head of Client Facing Technologies for UBS Equities IT. Abhishek joined UBS as a Graduate in London as an IT Developer in the firm’s web-based trading platform before moving to Hong Kong in Oct 2007.

Abhishek holds a Masters of Engineering degree from the University of York, UK.

Jessica Morrison

Jessica Morrison is the Head of Asia Pacific Commission Management and Market Structure for Deutsche Bank.

Commission Management offers Commission Sharing Agreements to fund managers from a range of jurisdictions allowing clients to pay for appropriate research and execution services on an unbundled basis from execution. Market Structure focuses on the effect that changes in regulation and technology have on trading behaviours in Equity products.

Jessica actively participates in industry consultations, lobbying and speaks at Deutsche Bank client education events on topics such as the recent SFC electronic trading requirements. She is the Co-Chair of the FIX Trading Community's Exchanges and Regulatory Subcommittee and represents DB at the ASIFMA Equity Trading Committee.

Having moved to Hong Kong in January 2011, Jessica has worked for Deutsche since early 2009, initially in Compliance. She previously worked for Morgan Stanley and holds an MA in Law from the University of Cambridge.

Shrikant Pandit

Mr. Shrikant Pandit is a 1978 engineering graduate from IIT Kanpur with over 25 years' experience in the software field. The last position he held was of Executive Director, Infosys Technologies Ltd.

Sanjeev Sarda

Prior to Blackhat, Sanjeev worked in the high frequency FX market making team at RBS working on futures, forwards and G10 and NDF pairs. He was also the Head of Algorithmic Trading for Quantmetrics Capital Management, a London based hedge fund trading global markets. Sanjeev began his career in algorithmic execution at Merrill Lynch, where he was actively involved in the development of algorithmic and smart order routing strategies. Shilesh Shekhawat

Based in Hong Kong, her area of responsibility includes connectivity solutions, algorithmic trading strategies, dark pool, smart order routing, analytics, market structure and regional regulatory review. Prior to this Shilesh worked with Bank of America Merrill Lynch for 11 years based in Sydney, Tokyo and Hong Kong where she was responsible for Business Analysis as well as delivered technology solutions for the Electronic Execution business.

He is founder of E2E infotech, which started operations in 2001 in London and grew the company from 4 founders to 50+ people and expanding the operations globally. E2E infotech has been instrumental in providing integration solutions to electronic trading industry. Prior to E2E infotech, Vaibhav worked with various technology and business functions at Citibank and Citicorp Software since 1993, dealing with Equity Derivatives, Warrants, Electronic Trading and Cash Management operations and technology departments in several countries in Europe and Asia. Vaibhav is an experienced voice in outsourcing and distributed delivery and responsible for offshore delivery capabilities of CameronTec group which services both internal and external customer needs. Shamu Thambi joined Morgan Stanley's Electronic Trading Desk in 2008 and is responsible for the desk's liquidity strategy, alternative execution product suite and market structure content. His responsibilities also include the desk's broker dealer relationships and domestic Indian clients.
